This class: This gentle 6-week Himalayan Yoga Meditation course from a 5,000 year-old tradition is designed for everyone who wants a gentle and easy way to start meditation. Beginning with simple movements, we’ll use a systematic approach to breathing and relaxation that will leave you relaxed and yet energized.
Why take this class: You will learn techniques that will help you relieve stress, reduce the effects of physical illness, and improve concentration and mindfulness.
What you’ll learn: In this 6-session class you will gain:
- Systematic knowledge of basic systems of quieting the mind;
- Thorough understanding and practice of diaphragmatic breathing;
- Practice of progressive relaxation methods (stress management);
- Skills in self observation which can be applied to your personal growth.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or blanket for floor work.
Chairs will be available for those who find the floor too difficult.
