We are excited to explore mindfulness in our Youth and Family Ministry this summer! Children, teens and volunteers will practice simple tools to feel more centered, more relaxed, and connected to God within. Students will learn a new mindfulness tool each Sunday and be encouraged to share the tools with their family. Our Mindfulness Booklet will easily guide parents and children as they practice mindfulness tools at home during the week. We’ll even offer a mid-week text reminder to pause for family mindfulness time.
By mindfulness, we mean to pay attention to the present moment, while calmly accepting feelings, thoughts, and body sensations. The benefits of mindfulness include: increased empathy and compassion, improved immune functioning, increased happiness and optimism, improved sleep, greater focus and concentration, reduced stress and anxiety.
