Life is about change and about growth. And yet how often do we say we want to change as long as everything remains the same, or at least I don’t have to change? We forget that spiritual growth is about change. It seems at times that maybe we have had nothing to do with the changes, and yet we do, we do, we do. We have cooperated with the Universe to create these changes. Change happens; and, in fact, it is the only way we transform our lives – by letting go of the lesser for the greater. During June we will look at the power and necessity of change.
Love seems to be the answer to almost everything. It is love, personal or impersonal, that is the answer. Catherine Ponder, the author of “The Prospering Power of Love,” recommended this book more so than the dozens of others she has written. She gives three reasons for doing so: first, for those people who are beginning their inspirational search; second, for those people with human relations problems, which most people experience occasionally as a part of their growth into greater understanding; and third, for those people who are looking for a book containing a simple yet inspirational approach that they can share with others as a means of help. I think most of us fit into one of these areas if not all three.
Catherine Ponder is known for her prosperity teachings; and, in fact, she is sometimes called the Queen of Prosperity. An ordained Unity minister, she has taught prosperity principles for over 65 years. She was born in 1927, and is still doing ministry in Palm Desert, California. We will be using her work as the basis of our July Prosperity Month Sunday Celebrations. Rev. Pat will also be teaching the class
Keys to the Kingdom, a prosperity program written by David Owen Ritz.
Unity World Headquarters recently published a small booklet “Truth Be Told – From the Legendary Writers of Unity.” For the month of August we will be looking at four of these legendary writers and the contributions that each has made to the Unity Movement. Each week we will look at some of the principles that each taught and a little bit about the writer’s life. Yes, I quote Eric Butterworth throughout the year; and, yes, he is one of my favorite teachers/writers. Because I use him so much during the year, I will not be using Mr. Butterworth for this series. We will also be gifting you the booklet “Truth Be Told” from Unity’s Keepsake Collection.
