“RACE: The Power of an Illusion” Viewing & Discussion

Saturday | January 14 | 1 – 6 PM

RACE. This year’s news is full of complex issues involving this one word–a word that each person might define differently. It is a word linked to discord, tensions, hatred, and even violence. Many of us want to see things “improve” in areas involving race. Yet how?

Every Sunday at Unity we sing “Peace begins with me.” So, too, lays the path to “improve” things involving race: It begins with each of us.

This 3-part documentary is guaranteed to be thought-provoking, eye-opening, moving, even life changing for people of every background and skin color. With Martin Luther King Jr. Day the following Monday, this documentary will help you experience the significance of the holiday. Please come join us for this second opportunity to watch the acclaimed PBS documentary: RACE: The Power of an Illusion.

Post-viewing discussions will be lovingly facilitated by Unity prayer chaplains Pat Samples and Catherine Grotenhuis.

Free will love offering; Recommended for ages 15 and older
