“In winter everything lies dormant in the silent earth, it is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days.  The energy of winter is that of going within. It’s the fruitful darkness and silence out of which our soul’s yearnings and new inspirations can eventually emerge.  As we consciously link our awareness to nature’s cycles, our understanding of our own personal growth cycles begin to deepen.”
                                                                                    Chloё Rain, Explore Deeply

The Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, is honored by many traditions as a time of reflection on the year just ending and a celebration of the new year coming.   As we acknowledge the depth of the ‘fruitful darkness,’ we open our hearts, our souls, to receive that Divine Light that flows in, through, and as us.

Join us on Monday evening, December 21, for our Winter Solstice Celebration, as we honor the ‘sacred time of rest and reflection’ and the emergence of a new vision for the coming year.

Special Service:
Thursday | September 10 | 7 PM CT | Watch on Youtube
Prayer Vigil:
Thursday | September 10 | 7 AM – 7 PM CT |

Unity’s World Day of Prayer is a chance for people of all faiths around the world to join together in prayer to raise and uplift the consciousness of our world.

The theme “From Fear to Faith,” is perfect for this year. I cannot remember a time in my lifetime when so many things have emerged from the collective consciousness of the planet, and it has come forth by right of consciousness to be healed.

You and I have an important part to play in the healing of our world. Prayer has been the foundation of our Unity movement for over 130 years; and this is a time for our community and our world to join in prayer, aligning ourselves with the Divine and listening for guidance, as we each ask the question, “What is mine to do?” during this explosive time on the planet. Our inspired spiritual action helps to heal the world.

Unity Minneapolis’s vision and mission is about transforming the world. I ask you to participate in Unity World Day of Prayer as we do our part in this transformation. We are pleased to offer these ways in which you can participate in our local events:

Submit an online prayer request and allow Unity Minneapolis’s prayer ministry to pray with you and your loved ones.

Join our 12-hour “Zoom Room” virtual prayer vigil from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on September 10 hosted by our Prayer Chaplains, Prayer Ministry and others.

Pause throughout the day and affirm the World Day of Prayer affirmation: Standing in Truth, I move from fear to faith.

Light a virtual candle at World Day of Prayer.Org

Pray the Guiding Prayer which follows this letter.

End the day with our 7:00 PM prayer service, live-streamed via our website or Facebook Live. Rev. Jeanette, Rev. Toni and I will be leading the service along with guests Dane Stauffer, Eden Bodnar and THREE (Lori, Judi and Rachel) who will provide the music.

The World Day of Prayer is a chance to unite, even virtually, our hearts and minds in the power of prayer. We are grateful for the opportunity to embrace the affirmation “Standing in Truth, I move from fear to faith”.

Love and Blessings,

Rev. Pat Williamson, Rev. Jeanette Byington, & Rev. Toni Fish

Guiding Prayer 2020
With a soft, inward gaze and a gentle breath, I recognize the light of Spirit that is my source and true nature. Focused on the light, I look with kindness upon fears and worries, for they urge me to harness my great power of faith. By faith, I dare to see what cannot be seen by human eyes but exists as surely as the sun exists behind a cloud. I trust in universal goodness, so much so that I rest deeply in the peace of spiritual assurance. I remain faithful during times when my human brain cannot envision the magnificent possibilities of a healthful life, harmonious love, or boundless prosperity. Moving from fear to faith, I see my life through spiritual eyes. Trust my divine identity as the greatest reality, and I live in joyous expectation.
