Mardi Gras Dance
Friday, February 17 | 6:30-9:30 PM CT | Breck School
Please join Unity Minneapolis for a fun evening of community and dancing on Friday, February 17. Special dress code this year is Mardi Gras attire. We will be rocking the dance floor with Hans Gasterland and his band, The Percolators. Love to see you there!
What is Mardi Gras? Mardi Gras is the last day of “Carnival,” the celebration that starts on the Christian Epiphany (January 6, 2023) and ends on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras or “Fat Tuesday” (February 21, 2023) is the last day for eating richer foods historically “forbidden” during the leaner 40-days of Lent. In the United States, celebrations during the Mardi Gras season are most famous in New Orleans. Other Southern cities, especially with French heritage, also mark Mardi Gras. Carnival season also is celebrated in many Catholic-majority countries, most well-known in Brazil, with elaborate parades filling the streets.
You can purchase tickets online, in the bookstore, or at the dance.
