Gentle Crossings – A Good Death

Woody Allen says, “I’m not afraid of death; I just don’t want to be there when it happens!” That pretty much sums up how many of us feel about death, whether we’re considering our own end-of-life or that of someone we love. Unfortunately, that “head buried in the sand” approach only feeds into questions and fears about death.

Sooner or later on our earthly journey, we must deal with death – the death of someone we love and eventually our own departure from this world. The old adage “no one gets out of here alive” certainly applies. Opening ourselves to the pain of death, our own or that of someone we love, is one of the most mysterious blessings of life. Nothing focuses us more clearly on what really matters. Nothing helps us drop our defenses more quickly or gives us more compassion for human suffering.

This workshop is about bringing insight and understanding to the subject. In a safe and supportive environment we’ll explore our beliefs, fears and questions about dying. We’ll learn how to be there for a loved one as they leave their earthly bodies. We’ll consider the question “how can I prepare for my own death?” as well as what’s next after life on earth.

Death isn’t nearly so scary once we’ve unwrapped the topic, explored our thoughts and discussed the subject openly. Join us for an enlightening experience to die for!

Workshop Overview:
• Week 1 – Why are we afraid of death?
o Exploring and discussing questions, concerns and fears we may have about dying and death. Where did those fears originate? Are they valid? How can we resolve them?
