I have been an active member of the Unity congregation for the past five years where I have been most actively engaged in Unity’s Music and Youth & Family Ministries. I approach life with an optimistic “glass half-full” attitude, and I look forward to serving and representing this congregation with a spirt of openness, hope, love and commitment.
When visiting Unity Minneapolis for the first time, I connected immediately and discovered I had found a new spiritual home - with the Unity Choir under the leadership of Judi Vinar and Lori Dokken and learning and growing through Unity's ministerial leadership. I look forward to continuing my growth and helping the church as it plans for the future.
For years I drove by Unity Minneapolis on my way to work. I would tell myself that I would check it out “one of these days.” Then one Easter Sunday I had the courage to attend a service. And like I have heard so many people in this community say, finding Unity Minneapolis is finding a Spiritual home. I became a member in 2007 soon after starting to attend services and classes here. The many classes and book study groups I have participated in have helped me expand my Spiritual awareness. And it is the Spiritual transformation that I have experienced while attending Unity Minneapolis that has led me to believe that it is time for me to step-up my contribution to this community. I want to serve on your Board of Trustees because I love this Spiritual Community and feel called to contribute in a way that supports Unity Minneapolis’s Spiritual Intentions and Strategic Planning Priorities. Much of my professional life has involved working in some aspect of the printing business - print buying, project management, administration and sales. I have been in a career transition during the past couple of years which has included going back to school to earn a degree in Human Services and starting to work in that industry as an Independent Living Skills Specialist. My training as a Certified Therapeutic Coach® has been a huge asset in my new career as well as an asset I would bring to the Board of Trustees. In service to this community I have been most active in the Hospitality Ministry. I also serve in the Unity Cares Ministry as well as the Garden Ministry. I look forward to continued service to Unity Minneapolis.
I have been a member of Unity Minneapolis for many years. I am grateful for my abundance and I want to share my time and talent in a larger, deeper way.
I have been attending Unity since 1991. Both of my daughters were ‘baptized’ at Unity and some of you will have had the pleasure of knowing my spouse, Tori, who has taught Yoga here. I am blessed to have gone from a high school graduate sorting paper to partaking in executive level, national, and some global business activities. Personally, I have lived with both triumph and defeat. Ranging from raising two wonderful daughters to disability, disease, and death of loved ones. These challenges and pains have given a certain depth of appreciation, perspective, and understanding for the diversity of lives and the personal suffering that often goes unspoken. Along the way I picked up a few professional gifts that may be useful in service to Unity. These include generating growth, marketing, communications, inspiring others to do their very best, and servant leadership. I’ve had the privilege of serving on secular, policy, and non-profit boards. These are gifts that may be helpful at this time in service to Unity. When I reflect on our Values, I most naturally bring transformation, welcoming, and joy. To really live our vision of a world transformed we have to act here and now and then build on our successes to do even greater things. I love this church, the teachers, the teachings, and the members. I’m committed to serving, and that commitment is one I would be honored to expand by serving on our Board.
I became a member of Unity Minneapolis in 1993 when I found a spiritual home that welcomed and enriched me. This past year I have had the privilege of assisting in the Development work of the church. Throughout the years, I have participated in and appreciated many workshops, book clubs and classes that Unity has to offer. I am honored to serve as a Trustee on the Board at Unity Minneapolis.
