November is around the corner and we’re preparing for Gratitude Sunday on November 18. Once again, we’ll be blessed to share the morning with Rev. Pat, Lori Dokken and the band, and Judi Vinar with our Unity choir. This year’s Gratitude Sunday will also introduce All Together Now, a special time for all ages of our Unity community to connect and celebrate together. Youth ministry activities will take the morning off on November 18 so that all congregants (wee ones to wise ones) can attend Sunday services together.
We’re adding some twists to our usual order of service to accommodate all ages. Parts of the service (music, meditation, message) will look and feel different.
Parents: We encourage you to sit in the pews down front so your child(ren) can see what’s happening. It’s not much fun to try to see around adult heads. It is our intention that you and your family relax and enjoy the service. Kids get to be kids at All Together Now. If somebody needs to step out, no problem, but please come back to the service.
Everybody Else: Bring your inner child and expect a bit more joyful noise! Jesus said “whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me, but the one who sent me.” We’ll embrace God in each person, tall or small. And yes, feel free to take crayons and a coloring sheet.
All Together Now is a new opportunity out of the 2018 Youth and Family Ministry Strategic Plan. It supports two of our initiatives: “Youth Involved in Sunday Service” and “Inclusive, Family-Friendly Events.” Don’t let your presence or absence be our only feedback. Join us on November 18 and then share your experience to help guide All Together Now into our future.
